Reivers & Rustlers

The Scottish Borders is renowned for having some of the most varied and beautiful, yet accessible riding country in Britain. Tracks once used by the marauding and pillaging Reivers for stealing cattle, today provide peaceful ways for exploring the rolling countryside of the Borders on horseback. 

There are ten guided rides at the 2008 Borders Festival of the Horse and this year’s theme is Reivers and Rustlers, supported by Forestry Commission Scotland.

A Guided Ride from St Boswells taking in part of St Cuthbert’s Way

Camieston Farm, St Boswells .
From St Boswells take A699. At first crossroads turn left to the first farm you come to.

Disabled access & facilities: No

6.30pm – 8.30pm • £10 • Booking required • Own Horse: Yes

A guided ride incorporating roads and tracks and venturing onto the magnificent Eildon Hills. This will be an intermediate ride mostly walking and trotting and perhaps short canters depending on conditions and participants. All ages welcome (children must be accompanied).
