Programme of Events 2010

The programme of events at this year’s Borders Festival of the Horse offers a 13-day gourmet choice of equestrian activities for riders and spectators. All aspects of equestrianism are covered from “try your hand” events to the BHS Borders Grand Competition Day - the choice is endless!

MEDIEVAL FAYRE

Traquair House, Innerleithen EH44 6PW

11am - 5pm

A medieval fayre in the grounds of Traquair with equestrian displays, living history, combat demonstrations, archery, falconry, music, jesters, medieval traders etc.

TREASURE HUNT AT NENTHORN EQUESTRIAN CENTRE
Nenthorn, Kelso TD5 7RY. North of Kelso on the Gordon Road

10am - 2pm. £15 with own horse, extra £15 for those wishing to hire a horse

Treasure Hunt round local farmland and woods at Nenthorn, finishing with a family BBQ at Nenthorn Equestrian Centre. Some optional jumps. Adults and children welcome and can bring their own ponies or hire from NEC.

BORDER REIVERS POLO CLUB MATCH
Pittlesheugh Farm, Greenlaw, Duns TD10 6UL. From Greenlaw go 4 miles south on A697. Turn right for Hassington & Hume. Pittlesheugh is first farm on right.

12-3pm. Car parking / entry £5.

DUKE OF BUCCLEUCH'S FSC LURCHER, TERRIER AND ALL VARIETY SHOW
Houdshall, Midlem (north of Midlem on B6453, which leaves A699 St Boswells to Selkirk road opposite Clarilaw Farm. Venue will be signposted.)

12 noon, all entries on field. No pre-booking required.

Lurcher, terrier and all variety dog classes. Also fun agility, children's classes and dog racing.

OXNAM GYMKHANA
Harden Mains, Jedburgh TD8 6RB

10am - 4pm. Entries in advance only. Ringside parking for disabled access.

Friendly gymkhana for all ages from under-5 lead rein to adult. Events include showjumping, working hunter, equitation, games and handy pony.
