The programme of events at this year’s Borders Festival of the Horse offers an 11-day gourmet choice of equestrian activities for riders and spectators. All aspects of equestrianism are covered from “try your hand” events to the BHS Borders Grand Competition Day - the choice is endless!
Riders of all ages and abilities have the opportunity to learn about the growing sport of BHS TREC. Peelham Farm (Foulden, near Eyemouth) are hosting a training day on Sat 24th May followed by a competition on Sun 25th May. You can download the entry form here.

Sylvia Loch: Overbending – A necessary Evil?

An indoor evening event. Visitors will receive wine and nibbles on arrival and a chance to visit and look round Sylvia’s yard. The subject of overbending, Rollkur and the use of draw reins is an emotive one. Sylvia believes it is damaging for the horse both physically and mentally. She will give her reasons using 60 well chosen slides this will be followed by a question and answer session. Sylvia Loch is a well known author and international exponent of classical riding.
