Programme of Events 2008

The programme of events at this year’s Borders Festival of the Horse offers an 11-day gourmet choice of equestrian activities for riders and spectators. All aspects of equestrianism are covered from “try your hand” events to the BHS Borders Grand Competition Day - the choice is endless!

Riders of all ages and abilities have the opportunity to learn about the growing sport of BHS TREC. Peelham Farm (Foulden, near Eyemouth) are hosting a training day on Sat 24th May followed by a competition on Sun 25th May. You can download the entry form here.

Art Exhibition “The Horse and the Borders”

McHardy’s Gallery, Biggiesknowe, Peebles EH45. From Innerleithen turn onto Peebles High Street, travel to far end then turn right over the Cuddy Bridge. Gallery is on right hand side.

eQUINE Veterinary Clinic Open Day

Greenside Veterinary Practice, Greenside Farm, St Boswells TD6 0AJ

Disabled access & facilities: Good

10am – 12noon • Entrance by charity donation • No booking required • All ages welcome

A chance to view a new purpose built equine clinic and the state of the art diagnostic facilities available. A chance to view the small animal facilities will also be available. Light refreshments will be provided.

Grand Competition Day

Bowhill Estate, Selkirk TD7 5ES. Directions on schedule.

Disabled access facilities: Ringside parking may be available. Phone to arrange.

9am – 4pm • Entry fee as per schedule ( competitors) • No entries on the field • Free for spectators

Competition day including dressage, show jumping and working hunter competitions. Classes for novice and more experienced riders. Refreshments available. Riders must be 16 or over. All spectators welcome.

2pm – 5pm • £25 for tuition • Free for spectators • Booking required • All ages welcome

An opportunity for riders of all ages and abilities to learn about the growing sport of BHS Trec. Overnight stay can be arranged (at extra cost). Horses may be available to hire contact Denise Walton.
