The programme of events at this year’s Borders Festival of the Horse offers a 13-day gourmet choice of equestrian activities for riders and spectators. All aspects of equestrianism are covered from “try your hand” events to the BHS Borders Grand Competition Day - the choice is endless!

Learn how to be a horse whisperer, the art of communicating by three different ways with your horse, and how you can assist in healing horses.

6-8pm, tea and coffee available, entry by donation to BHS and Grass Sickness

 

A demonstration of the difference found in western riding. Talk and demo will cover verbal, leg and body cues. Different tack will be demonstrated as well as demos on a pleasure type horse and a trail horse. The start of reining will be shown and a lesson with a beginner to western. Native horses will be seen as well as quarter horses. Please bring warm clothing and a chair as venue is outdoors.
