The programme of events at this year’s Borders Festival of the Horse offers a 13-day gourmet choice of equestrian activities for riders and spectators. All aspects of equestrianism are covered from “try your hand” events to the BHS Borders Grand Competition Day - the choice is endless!

introduction to carriage driving

Nenthorn Equestrian Centre, Kelso TD2 7RY, north of Kelso on the Gordon Road

 

10.30am-12.30pm, entrance by donation to BHS Borders.

 

Try something different! Come and get advice and watch an expert driving (skull cap, sensible shoes / boots and gloves required).

Equestrian Cabaret

Lanton Hill Farm, Jedburgh, above Lanton Village (will be signposted from A698 Denholm to A68)

 

2.30pm, £5 per person, booking not necessary.

 

Les Amis d'Onno's unique showcase cabaret featuring stunts, trick riding and combat routines with beautiful friesian horses, andalucian horses and a fjord pony. Fantastic costumes and music, including the can-can on horseback. Also appearing at the Medieval Fayre at Traquair on 29 and 30 May.

3pm meet at start. No booking required, attendance by donation to charity. Disabled access and facilities- none.
